When cost efficiency matters

Schaan, Liechtenstein – 27 March 2012

Ivoclar Vivadent launches two new high-gold ceramic alloys: Callisto 84 and Callisto 86. These alloys exhibit a warm, golden colour. Due to their particular metal composition, they are available at an attractive price.

With metal prices continuing to soar, users are often finding it difficult to offer their patients an alternative to high-priced gold alloys. Callisto 84 and Callisto 86 are two new alloys which are attractively priced and yet yield high-quality esthetic results. Compared with similar alloys, Callisto 84 and 86 feature a low density: 17.7 g/cm3 and 18.2 g/cm3, respectively. This provides important benefits: Less alloy is needed, and the absolute costs per fabricated unit are lower.

Wide range of indications
The indication range of Callisto 84 and 86 covers inlays and onlays, crowns and short- and long-span bridges. Both alloys feature a warm, golden colour. The melting and casting properties and the bond strength values to metal-ceramic materials are outstanding. Handling and processing of the alloys are straightforward, and in addition the alloys are biocompatible and highly corrosion-resistant.
