Cervitec Plus and Cervitec Gel
Optimum protection with Cervitec Plus and Cervitec Gel
Schaan, Liechtenstein - 12 June 2007
Cervitec Plus and Cervitec Gel from Ivoclar Vivadent are representatives of the latest generation of protective preparations.
Cervitec Plus protects susceptible tooth surfaces and reduces the baterial activity on teeth. It contains 1% each of the proven active ingredients chlorhexidine and thymol. As the new varnish system shows high moisture tolerance, it simplifies application procedures. Because of the optimized varnish base, Cervitec Plus is capable of wetting the tooth surface more thoroughly and adhering to it more tightly. The varnish penetrates into complex surface structures, such as fissures and exposed dentin, which are susceptible to a heightened caries risk, where it forms a depot. Cervitec Plus is based on its predecessor Cervitec, which has been extensively studied in international investigations.
The additional use of a chlorhexidine gel, such as Cervitec Gel, is recommended in patients who are at high caries risk, or who suffer from gingivitis, periodontitis or denture stomatitis. The preparation contains 0.2% chlorhexidine and 0.2% sodium fluoride. The gel can be directly applied to the gingiva and mucous membrane and the inner sides of dentures. The gel is applied with a toothbrush or interdental brush. Cervitec Gel is suitable for use in the dental office as well as at home and enhances the effect of Cervitec Plus, which is applied professionally.
Both products play a significant role in keeping teeth, crowns, bridges and implants in good condition in the long term.
