News and highlights at IDS 2007
Schaan, Liechtenstein - 20. März 2007
The same factors that characterized Ivoclar Vivadent in 1923 are still success factors of the internationally successful dental company: passion, vision and innovation. These three words convey a clear message, which is reflected in the entire IDS presentation of the Liechtenstein-based company.
Ivoclar Vivadent presents itself as visionary materials expert with innovations and launches a new communication program:
Passion x Vision x Innovation
Ivoclar Vivadent is considered to be ranked among the leading companies. As a materials expert for quality preventive, restorative and prosthetic dental materials, the company achieved a strong sales growth and increase of market shares in the past year. "We attribute our success to the combination of our strengths", says Robert A. Ganley, Chief Executive Officer of Ivoclar Vivadent AG. "We have a clear vision of the direction of the market and the needs of our customers. Innovation is the foundation of our product portfolio but it is the passion of our people that gives us the energy to create success for our customers and our company", explains Robert A. Ganley.
Successful products through spirit of innovation
Ivoclar Vivadent has been and continues to be a major driving force in the dental market. Many products have evolved into a "gold standard" for the industry. With the Tetric EvoCeram composite and the IPS e.max all-ceramic system, Ivoclar Vivadent is among the leading companies in composites and all-ceramics and IPS Empress Esthetic is the world's leading all ceramic system. Ivoclar Vivadent also offers a wide range of suitable materials for the aesthetic restoration of implants. The three areas of competence of Ivoclar Vivadent align with the customer needs:
Competence in All-Ceramics
Competence in Composites
Competence in Implant Esthetics
More versatility in all-ceramics
Ivoclar Vivadent sets a new standard in all-ceramic solutions. With the new IPS e.max Press ingots and the IPS e.max CAD blocks in the translucency level LT it is now possible to fabricate fully anatomical restorations. They can be either adhesively luted or conventionally cemented. "For the first time ever, it is possible to fabricate all-ceramic crowns for conventional cementation in direct chairside procedures using IPS e.max CAD", says Josef Richter, Chief Sales Officer at Ivoclar Vivadent. The IPS e.max CAD restorations are milled in the "soft" state of the block – characterized by its bluish colour. The material acquires its final physical properties and tooth shade during a subsequent short crystallization process.
Tetric EvoFlow – nano-optimized flowable composite
The name already indicates that it is based on more than 10 years of tradition and clinical experience with its predecessor Tetric Flow. At the same time, it represents an "evo"lution. "We expect a similar story of success as with the market-leading composite Tetric EvoCeram. Tetric EvoFlow is the flowable version, which also features the advantages of nano-technology", explains Josef Richter. Both materials are ideally coordinated with each other. However, they can also be combined with other composites.
Ivoclar Vivadent is not only a competent partner when it comes to prosthetic solutions but also renowned for highly aesthetic restorations. This competence is also reflected in the field of implant-supported prosthetic restorations. The advantage, according to Josef Richter, is that a comprehensive product range of tried-and-tested clinical and technical products is designed and engineered to be used as a system. The benefit is that the products are coordinated with each other. Therefore, there is no question as to the compatibility of materials.
"Futuristic" materials expert
The entire exhibition booth of Ivoclar Vivadent at IDS in Cologne is visionary and futuristic. An ingenious presentation in the FutureLab will take exhibition visitors onto a journey into the dental future. "We invite our guests to share our vision, to experience the innovation of our products and to feel the passion of our people", said Robert A. Ganley, CEO.
Upbeat business development in Germany
"Ivoclar Vivadent GmbH, Germany has recorded 2006 a substantial sales growth of 29% within the prosthetic related product lines, a result attributed mainly to the specific focus given to these activities over the last two years as well as due to the recently introduced new products", Josef Richter stated. The all-ceramic related business grew by almost 50% to previous year, denture teeth sales increased by 20%.
The market leadership in clinical direct composites could be reconfirmed, and the market leadership in dental adhesives was additionally expanded. The operational performance was furthermore positively influenced by efficiency programs improving working capital utilization and liquidity. The result will provide the required means and will be entirely utilized to continue the last three years investments in the Sales & Marketing force expansions.
