The course fee for each further participant from the same laboratory is CHF 600 / € 540-.
Due to the recent advances of CAD/CAM technology, zirconium oxide and pressed ceramics have seen considerable further development. The translucency and the chroma of zirconium oxide materials have been optimized. Compared to the white-opaque appearance of the original products, the optical properties of these materials have been greatly enhanced.
With the improvement of chroma and translucency, the surface characterization of zirconium oxide crowns with stains has considerably gained in importance. IPS Ivocolor has further optimized the staining technique and the range of stains available to dental technicians. However, stains only enable the surface of restorations to be characterized. The result is still different from that achieved with a ceramic layering technique. Thus ceramic layering skills and theoretical knowledge about the layering technique based on the shade qualities of the IPS e.max Ceram materials remain an important element.
• Application of the new IPS e.max Ceram Power Dentin/Incisal materials featuring higher brightness and enhanced chroma
• Faithful reproduction of the natural tooth shape and shade
• Use of the conventional but still very efficient Impulse materials
Course participants will be provided with theoretical and practical insight into the shading scheme according to Shigeo Kataoka. They will learn how to achieve a natural tooth shape and an appropriate surface texture when fabricating restorations.
Dental technicians with an interest in new all-ceramic materials
Course participants will be sent the instructions for fabricating the crown coping and the veneer prior to the course. The IPS e.max CAD posterior crown will be provided.
