The digital direct composite concept: Guided natural direct composite restorations based on laboratory digital planning
Nowadays it is possible to achieve highly esthetic dental restorations using modern composite materials. However, the results can be unpredictable and operator dependent. Our presentation will focus on new methods, including digital planning and additive manufacturing, which make composite layering more convenient. Our goal is to show how to produce guides for the most aspects of the restorative procedure and to standardize the more complicated steps such as dentinal anatomy and layer thicknesses. It becomes easier for the everyday practitioner to achieve predictable results and integrate the direct restorations in complex treatments.
